Just a brief note to let you know that I will be off for the next ten to twelve days. I am going for a supposedly nice but quite serious hike around the Cordillera Huayhuash together with two friends from Alaska - so don't expect anything new on this site until about two weeks from now.
The walking takes place in altitudes between 4000m and 5000m, so we will feel like slugs in the beginning, especially with all the food we just bought in the local market! But when coming back, we should be quite fit... and ready for other adventures. Unfortunately the weather really sucks at the moment - rain. And this is supposed to be the dry season hereabouts. The locals only shake their heads about the weather. Will post more when back to Huaraz.
