I really enjoyed the last few weeks in Buenos Aires. And also saying good-bye did not really feel sad, surprisingly. I just feel I will certainly be back some time soon. No idea how and when, but it does feel like that.
Berlin received me with warm and sunny weather (better than Buenos Aires winter!). I had forgotten how nice and small and green this city is. No comparison with Buenos Aires... Very pleasant! Walked along the Kurfuerstendam, the most important shopping avenue in the western part of town. This was around lunch time - less people on the sidewalks than you would see at 2am on a Sunday night in Buenos Aires on a major avenue! And everybody is having so much space, in the bus e.g. But people are so much more aware of personal space as well. You could also call this behaviour "distant", I suppose. I am reminded of so many German idiosyncrasies at the moment... Feeling slightly like a tourist in my home city!
I hope I am not growing too many roots - since I am in a transitory state! Looking forward to catching up with friends and family. Tomorrow, on Friday, I will meet a bunch for dinner and a few drinks in a restaurant. Everybody who is around is very welcome to join in!
If I find the time, I will try to walk around and use my current perspective on Berlin to take a few photographs. But currently my "social responsibilities" (and also the time-consuming work on my thousands of photographs) seem to occupy me fully ;-).
